Cabinet, Vanity Sales Decline Again in June
RESTON, VA — Sales of kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities posted another in a series of monthly declines in June, falling modestly below sales in the same month in 2022, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association reported.
According to the KCMA’s latest monthly “Trend of Business Survey,” participating manufacturers reported that overall cabinet and vanity sales were 3% below sales reported in June of 2022. The decline was led by a 21.1% decrease in sales of stock cabinets, due largely to the ongoing housing slowdown.
By comparison, semi-custom cabinet/vanity sales fell a scant 0.1%, while sales of custom cabinets increased 5.2%, according to the Reston, VA-based KCMA, whose latest figures have reflected a recent slowdown in sales growth compared to the double-digit monthly increases posted throughout 2022.
Despite the June sales declines, however, year-to-date cabinet and vanities sales through June were nevertheless up 4.4% from sales posted in the first six months of 2022, the KCMA reported.
